Big Boy Bed

Tonight is Jackson's first night in his very own big boy bed! He has lots of company in there with him though. There's the usual, Blankie, Lovey, Mickey and Pillow. Then there's Giraffe, Monkey, Toby, Mr. Wuf, NC State pillow, backhoe pillow, and Baby Jaguar. (although Baby Jaguar is pretty big, not so much a baby...) And for a while, he also had a wolf with him, but after a few minutes he called for Mommy and Daddy to say that he didn't want the wolf b/c, "He scare me."
This whole process of transitioning into a big bed has been coming for a few weeks. While in Florida, he decided he was too big for the pack and play, so he slept in bed with us. Then when we got home, there were a couple of days that he insisted on napping in our bed, which he did fine with. Then at Mamma and Papa's house last weekend/this weekend, he slept in a big bed. So last week, we started talking to Jackson about it and asking him if he wanted a big bed. He was pretty pumped up about it and was really looking forward to sleeping in his new bed last night. Well, the plan didn't work out quite as well as we had expected. The bed frame was a challenge to get together, "our" "full" mattress we brought home from Wilson turned out to be a queen and not ours at all, the other mattress we got on there was way too tall with the boxspring and the bed frame wasn't supportive enough for just the mattress. So very early in this adventure, we decided to put Jackson to bed in our bed. And it's a good thing, b/c we didn't get his bed finished until about 10 o'clock. But he was so excited when he saw it this morning! It's just crazy to look at him in that big bed. He's just growing up too fast! This is going to be his bed until he buys his own someday, so it's just a little surreal to think that in 15 years, he'll be a senior in high school, sleeping in the same bed. So it's 10:45 on the night of the NCAA National Championship. Do you think he'll be up there sleeping soundly on this same night in 15 years? (Go Duke!)
