A Sneak Peek
Here she is... Our little girl! It is amazing that they can get such clear pictures these days! She is at 29 weeks gestation and weighs about 3 lbs right now. That puts her in the 47% percentile, so the doctors are very happy with her growth. (Some people have told me lately that I look small.) She was very active during the ultrasound, so we got some great pictures!

Do you see the little "hamburger" just above the writing that says, "It's a girl"? Those are her girlie parts.

Meeska Mooska, Jackson's Twoska!
We celebrated Jackson's 2nd birthday on Saturday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. Mickey is definitely his favorite character/cartoon right now and after meeting him at Disney a couple of months ago it was evident that Mickey and the gang would have to be a part of Jackson's 2nd birthday!
The party prepping got started on Friday with the cake baking/decorating. Amy and I have a tradition of decorating the kid's cakes, and boy am I glad we are a team! I had really big ideas for the Clubhouse cake and we were able to make them all a reality. Of course there were challenges... (What cake decorating party would be complete without a few challenges??) ...making the Mickey head, running out of confectioner's sugar at 9:45 pm (Thanks, Sean & Stevie!), & melty grass, but it was nothing that we couldn't overcome! We even had two extra handy helpers for a while -- Cheryl & Alyssa! We were sad to lose them early in the night b/c Cheryl had become the brains of our operation, and Alyssa, well she's good at a lot -- coloring fondant, piping icing, etc. She has her own portfolio of cakes she's decorated! Well, by 1am Amy & I were cleaning up and very satisfied with what we had done.
Jackson had no idea that Ryley & Emma had spent the night at his house, so he was very excited to see them there first thing Saturday morning! There couldn't have been a better way to start off his day! Check out him and Emma on his truck... It was too cute!

Ryley helped out with the finishing touches Saturday morning!
Here it is... Jackson's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake!
Ok, so we attempted a picture with Aunt Amy, Uncle Stevie and the kids, but that turned out to be quite a challenge! Jackson was over having his picture taken and he and Emma both were way more interested in getting back to their play!
It's PARTY TIME! Here are Jackson and his buddy, Tate, riding the Gator!
Pop-Pop was ready for the party!

Fishin' at Nana & Pa-Jack's
Last Saturday morning, the Fourth of July, we went out for a little fishing in the pond. The neighbors, Johnny and Paula came over with their two grandkids, Dylan and Jailynn, to fish with us. Pa-Jack made Jackson and Dylan cane fishing poles and Johnny had picked up matching fishing shirts for them at a tackle shop, so they were all set! (The smallest size they had was pretty big, but they were cute with them on.)
Here are Nana and Jackson trying to catch the monster bass.

Birthday Boy!
After Jackson's nap, we headed down to Bladenboro for some more birthday fun. He was so excited to see the balloons Nana had tied to the picnic table for him. And of course he was very excited to see another present! There is no question that he gets that part! But not only does he want to open the present, he wants you to open the present...as in, he wants everything out of the box right away! And he has no patience for packaging!~
After dinner and cupcakes we headed back outside for a spectacular, daylight fireworks show! These fireworks were a gift to us in the hospital from Don and Jen right after Jackson was born. Since Jackson is fast asleep by the time darkness falls in July, we decided to go ahead and light them up before he went to bed.
Golf Pros (at least in my eyes!)
A couple of weeks ago, Sean and his Dad played in the Wilson Country Club Member-Guest Golf Tourney and they finished in 2nd place! Woo Hoo!! They had a great time together, playing golf on Saturday and Sunday. Beth and I joined in on the fun Saturday night at a wonderful dinner and dance. They plan to make this an annual tradition, so we'll see if they are able to come home #1 next year. But hey, no matter where they finish, just spending a couple of days together on the golf course has to be the best part!! Great job, Sean and Pat!
Catching Up
We've been pretty busy around here and blogging has had a hard time making it to the top of my list. I don't want miss anything, so I'm going to try and play catch up today.
