Still fabulous at 80!

Sunday morning we all went into Philadelphia to an area known as Penn’s Landing on the Delaware river.  We had to get there well before the normal boarding time to make sure we were all onboard by the time Joan and Mike got there with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop.

It was a gorgeous day, so we had no problem waiting outside until the crew was ready for us to board. 

Once on the boat, the kids had a ball running all around.  They let us board before all the other passengers, b/c of the surprise, so for about a half hour we were the only ones onboard. 

Shannon and Tim here were the decoy for the surprise.  Mom-Mom thought that Tim was going to be proposing to Shannon and that they had been invited to share in the special time.  (She even brought an engagement gift on the boat with her.)  Hehehe!

When she walked into the dining area of the boat, we were all standing on the dance floor, waiting for her to see us.  Once she caught eyes, we all yelled SURPRISE and the little kids ran over to her.  It was perfect!

I think she was very overwhelmed with emotion and completely caught off-guard!

I heard Mom-Mom ask several people why they didn’t tell her!  Because it was surprise Mom-Mom!!  All for you!!
 
It had to be wonderful for her to see all the little kids there.  It had been a while since she and Pop-Pop had seen them.

And they all adore her just as much as she adores them!

Mom-Mom and her #1 Grands! 

After a wonderful lunch cruise down the Deleware, which including a historical tour of the landmarks along the way, we all went back to Rusty and Cheryl’s to continue the celebration.  Mom-Mom loved her special ‘daisy’ cake!

She was a given a beautiful necklace to mark the special occasion.

It’s a heart shaped pendent with birthstones of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along the outside of the heart.  It was stunning and perfect for Mom-Mom!

She was also presented with a photo book that was created by the family.  It was filled with pictures of her growing up, through marriage and then a page for each of her kids and their families.  Anyone who knows Mom-Mom knows that she is never without her camera and loves pictures, so this was also a perfect gift for her!

Mom-Mom and her very special ‘birthday girl’!  80 and 1 on the 22nd this month and Mom-Mom is still keeping up with her!  Happy Birthday Mom-Mom!  I hope you enjoyed your special day as much as we enjoyed sharing it with you!!
