Good Times with the Ryans: Our last hurrah of the summer

At the end of August we spent a long weekend down at EI. Sean had already scheduled vacation for the Friday and Monday b/c we were originally planning a trip down to Charleston with some friends. When that didn’t work out for us, we decided that we could still do a beach trip, just a little closer to home. Since the Charleston trip was going to be adults only, and we were both looking forward to that, we asked Mamma and Papa if they would keep the kids Friday night, so we could have an afternoon on the beach to ourselves. It was perfect! We got down there about 2, unpacked the car, packed up a cooler and chairs, and plopped ourselves down on the beach. Not a worry in the world, cold beer in our hands. Life is good today!

Saturday morning we met Mamma and Papa in Kinston to make the kid exchange. They had a great time with them for sure, but Jackson was definitely pumped about getting down to the beach. Of course his main priority was getting down to the sand to ‘dig some howes’ so that was the first thing we did.

Then after we all took a nap, we took Jackson on his putt-putt adventure. He loved it!

He wasn’t all that interested in being ‘coached’. He was pretty confident in his skills and wanted to do it all himself.

Since we had crazy kid with us, Sean and I didn’t both play. I had planned to just take pictures and chase Kate. However, she didn’t really like the idea of not playing and all she wanted to do was pick up Sean and Jackson’s balls and run with them. So after the 3rd hole, I went back into the clubhouse with her to get a ball of her own. No club…that would have just been asking for trouble!
She knew exactly where the ball was supposed to go!
