Yep, a super sweet helicopter!
They even had headsets so they could communicate during the flight. He said the pilot was awesome -- more like a tour guide than a pilot. He even flew them by The Rock on the way.
I wasn't there or anything, b/c you know, I wasn't invited, so my narration is based on what Sean told me when they got home. The weather was a little questionable leading up to Saturday, so it wasn't until around 10 that morning that they received the official word that the helicopter would be flying. They left RDU around 3 and were back on the ground at about 4. Here's a view of the track from the skies. 
Where did they land you may ask? At the local airport? Nope. Right there next to the track. You know, like the drivers and owners and all.
Sean said when they stepped out of the helicopter there were several people lined up along a fence with their cameras in hand, hoping to get a glimpse of someone famous. When they saw four regular ole dudes roll up outta there, I'm sure they were a bit disappointed.

They had the hot passes for the day, so they were free to roam all through the pit areas. I thought this picture of Jeff Gordan's car being pushed by a crew member taking a drag of a stogy was NASCAR at its best.
Their tickets were given to them through Rick Hendrick. One of the perks of those tickets was a tour of Dale Jr.'s hauler. Each of those doors opens up to a chest/cabinet full of tools and spare parts.

An extra engine.
And an extra car.

After landing back at RDU, their pilot took them back into the hangar for a tour of some of the other aircraft owned by Mr. Goodnight. 
These pictures are from inside his 737. There were three rooms inside the plane, including a bedroom w/ a king size bed. Seriously?! I can't even imagine this lifestyle!
I'm guessing they don't serve bevies in those tiny little Solo cups you get on a Southwest flight?
