Birthday Cupcakes

My birthday was this past Monday and Sean made carrot cake cupcakes for me! How sweet, right!?! He did a really good job with them and they were yummy! (Thank you, Sean, for making them for me!) We celebrated Sunday afternoon and of course, Jackson enjoyed one, too. If you remember his "style" when it comes to eating cupcakes/cake, these pictures will look very familiar to you!!

He is a chef, you know.
Look at Jackson's eyes. Do you think he knows what a cupcake is??
Eyes still fixed on the cupcake.

And he goes in...face first!

Bite after bite, it's face first. I'm not sure why he doesn't find using his hands easier. Hey, who am I to judge?

Nice Weather = Fun in the Park

The weather has been wonderful these past few days! Who doesn't love 70 degree weather in February!?! Sunday was the perfect afternoon for a trip to the park, so we took a ride over to Pullen Park. Jackson had a great time! He fed the ducks (and dirty geese), played on the playground, and just ran...everywhere! Since the amusements aren't open yet, we weren't able to enjoy the carousel or the train, which Jackson would have loved, but he didn't know any different. His little cheeks were nice and rosy by the time we made it back to the car. And by the way, he slept great last night -- he was asleep at 7pm and I WOKE him up this morning at 9am! That is 14 solid hours of Zzz!

Even this turtle wanted to enjoy the warm sunshine!

Feeding the ducks.

I love this one! My two favorite men!

Mommy's Little Helper - Part 2

Jackson continues to be a great little helper around the house. Sweeping is still by far his favorite chore, but he also really enjoys dusting. He insists on more furniture polish on his rag after each swipe against the table, so he's pretty good at it! And today he even did his own laundry! I know, he's not even 2 yet! How great is that? I'd love to think he's never going to lose this love of chores, but I'm not quite that naive. I'll just enjoy these moments while they last.
