HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Daddy and Donald!

Going for his first Trick-or-Treat!

Trick or Treat!! Jackson just stood there for the longest time as everyone talked about how cute he was. He didn't really know what was going on, but he knew everyone was looking at him!

So, this is Jackson's first taste of chocolate and I have to admit, we didn't plan on him having chocolate tonight. He got a bag full of goodies from our neighbor and on the way to church he was playing with the candy (still in the wrapper). I turned around a second later and he was smacking on a Kit-Kat! He got it open with his teeth and may have even enjoyed a little paper with it, too. It was a priceless moment! It's what Halloween is all about, right???

Donald was surprised to see Daisy at church! These two were too cute!!

I have to tell you that I had prepared myself for Jackson's costume to be a "little boy in sweatpants". Since we got this costume a couple of weeks ago, we've tried it on him several times and he has hated it! The first time I tried the suit on he cried. And, the hat...forget it! He wouldn't even think about keeping it on. He actually wanted everyone else to wear it...just not him! But as you can see, tonight turned out great! He was so cute and so funny as Donald! He loved seeing all the other kids dressed up, too! And in case you are wondering how his first chocolate experience was....he was sleeping soundly by 7:30. :-)

Nana got her one!

Adventures in Florida

I had a Honda conference at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando last week, so my mom and Jackson came along. Here are the highlights: We got there around noon on Wednesday and then went to Animal Kingdom that afternoon. Very cool place...can't wait to go back again! Jackson slept for maybe 15 minutes total all day. He was zapped when we got back to the hotel! The hotel by the way, was ridiculously nice. Valet was your only parking option, the bathroom was HUGE -- they even left a rubber ducky on the tub for Jackson, they had slippers and robes for you to use during your stay, chocolates were on our pillows after they turned down our beds, and there was much more that amazed us while we were there. I was in meetings all day Thursday, so my mom and Jackson hung around the hotel. He chased ducks and played on the playground, but he also fell off the bed and then slammed his finger in a dresser drawer. So needless to say, by the time my classes were over my mom was ready to get out of the hotel. We decided to check out Downtown Disney. It was mostly just overpriced shopping, but they did have a carosel that Jackson LOVED! On Friday, we left the hotel for the airport as soon as my meetings were over and that is where the fun really began. We got stuck in traffic after I chose the wrong exit to fill up with gas, we walked from one side of the airport to the other (with Jackson and all our bags and me still in heels) aimlessly looking for the Southwest ticket counter, I ended up almost missing our flight after getting on the wrong tram, then Jackson threw up all over my mom (and lovie) on the plane. Don't worry though, we bought the t-shirt to remember it all!! I love you Mama!

Meerkats are so cool!!

Jackson did not want to get off of this horsey!

Pa-Jack's Buck

Pa-Jack killed a 6 point and Jackson was there to check him out. He wasn't too sure what to think of it.

Picking flowers for Mommy

Isn't this mum pretty? (Thanks to Ryley!) Jackson loves it, too! He has the best time "picking flowers" and then playing with all the petals. And there are just so many!

Welcome y'all!

As anyone can tell you, (parent or not) kids grow up way too fast! Jackson is certainly no exception. He is already almost 16 months old, runs wild everywhere and is so much fun to be around. I've thought about journaling his adventures, well, since he was born, but I hate writing. I guess I can thank my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Davis, for that one. Writing sentences for punishment is just stupid and a complete waste of time. All for not walking in a straight line, just stupid. (Sorry, I get worked up just thinking about it.) Anyway, so then I saw something about a family website. I tried that out, but it required your family and friends to create an account. That wouldn't work. So, here I am, creating a blog. It really is the best way to journal and share fun stories/thoughts with those you love. I've always been a little hesitant about sharing stuff like this over the web, but I'm sure I won't be interesting enough to attract to many strangers. I guess it's the weirdos you have to worry about. Whatever. We'll see how it goes... Thanks for stopping by!
